It is the part of the San Franciso Recreation and Parks Department, hugs the shores of Lake Merced in close proximity to the Lake Merced Golf Club, The Olympic Club and San Francisco Golf Club. Byron Nelson won back-to-back San Francisco Opens in 1944-45. The PGA Tour’s Lucky International in the 1960s attracted winners such as Gary Player (1961), Gene Littler (1962), Jackie Burke Jr. (1963), Ken Venturi (1966) and Billy Casper (1968). Tournaments hosted – TPC Harding Park Golf course

Having hosted the PGA Tour’s Lucky International Open from 1961 to 1969, Harding Park did not see elite tournament golf again until 2005 when it hosted the WGC-American Express Championship. Following that event, an agreement between the city and the PGA Tour was reached whereby several more PGA Tour events were scheduled to be played at Harding Park; The course hosted the 2009 Presidents Cup, the 2015 WGC-Cadillac Match Play, the 2020 PGA Championship, and is scheduled to host the 2026 President’s Cup. Harding Park has also hosted the Champions Tour‘s season-ending Charles Schwab Cup Championship in 2010, 2011, and 2013.

TPC Harding Park Golf Course

The 18-hole “Harding Park” course at the TPC Harding Park facility in San Francisco, California features 6,743 yards of golf from the longest tees for a par of 72. The course rating is 72.1 and it has a slope rating of 124. Designed by Willie Watson and Sam Whiting, the Harding Park golf course opened in 1925. PGA Tour Properties manages this facility, with Tom Smith, PGA as the General Manager.

Major Announcement

 In July of 2014, the PGA TOUR, the PGA of America, and The City and County of San Francisco announced an unprecedented partnership to bring the 2015 World Golf Championship Match Play, 2020 PGA Championship, and 2025 Presidents Cup to TPC Harding Park. This extraordinary announcement elevated TPC Harding Park to become just the fifth municipal course ever to host a Major Championship in the 120 year history of American championship golf.

The San Francisco Recreation and Park Department and TPC Management are excited to announce starting May 1st, 2017 TPC Harding Park will be introducing on-demand flexible greens fee pricing. This program will provide fair and equal access, offering the best rate possible based on real-time demands while continuing to guarantee SF Resident Cardholders the lowest rate available. The program will benefit you, our golf lovers, who can select a price point and time that works best for you. Prices may be higher or lower than the base rates listed below:

*** Bay Area is defined as San Francisco (for residents without a valid Resident Golf Card), Alameda, Contra Costa, Marin, Napa, San Mateo, Santa Clara, Santa Cruz, Solano and Sonoma.
