Golf PGA Tour 2K21 review

Quality

PGA Tour 2K21 has some beefed up visuals compared to HB Studio’s previous efforts. The courses look much better than they ever have, with more detail and realism. However, the biggest jump in quality comes with the golfers themselves. Action replays have a higher degree of polish so that they look like television graphics, and in-game commentators Luke Elvy and Rich Beem also make a big difference in making PGA Tour 2K21 feel like an official product.

Customise player and dress

You can select up to five outfits that act as pre-sets, and throughout your career, new apparel and clubs are unlocked. It provides more control over your created character than The Golf Club, and a better sense of achievement: your MyPlayer can be used throughout all of the different modes, whether you’re taking part in career, local multiplayer with friends, or a leisurely 18 holes on your lonesome. You pick everything from your name, gender, weight, and height, as well as what you wear and what club sets you have.

Multiplayer

PGA Tour 2K21 also has a set of robust multiplayer offerings. All the standard options, such as Match Play, Stroke Play, and Skins are all available in local and online multiplayer, and jumping into an online game is an easy process. There are also Societies, which act as a sort of custom league and once set up, they allow players to compete against each other in special seasonal tournaments or start smaller competitions with the creator’s custom rules.

Levels and help tools

There are six difficulty levels that range from beginner to legendary, and they can be customised to give you as much or as little help as you want. PGA Tour 2K21 offers assists in the form of Partial Swing, Dynamic Shot-Shaping, and Yardage Book.

You can adjust how much support you have when it comes to shaping your shot and how much spin you need to put on the ball. The Yardage Book is perhaps the best tool at your disposal when it comes to understanding each course.

Golf PGA Tour 2K21 Career mode

As mentioned at the top, the marketing of “2K21 has focused on its licensing agreements – with the PGA Tour, with tournament sponsors, with a list of pros, with 15 real-world courses, and with equipment and apparel manufacturers. It’s worth running through it. Here’s the real-world stuff in the game:

Golf PGA Tour 2K21 Courses (and tournaments)

  • Atlantic Beach Country Club
  • Copperhead Course at Innisbrook (Valspar Championship)
  • East Lake Golf Club (Tour Championship)
  • Quail Hollow Club (Wells Fargo Championship)
  • Riviera Country Club (Genesis Invitational)
  • TPC Boston (The Northern Trust)
  • TPC Deere Run (John Deere Classic)
  • TPC Louisiana (Zurich Classic)
  • TPC River Highlands (Travelers Championship)
  • TPC San Antonio (Valero Texas Open)
  • TPC Sawgrass (The Players Championship)
  • TPC Scottsdale (Waste Management Phoenix Open)
  • TPC Southwind (WGC-FedEx St. Jude Invitational)
  • TPC Summerlin (Shriners Hospitals for Children Open)
  • TPC Twin Cities (3M Open)

Available PGA Tour pros

  • Patrick Cantlay
  • Cameron Champ
  • Bryson DeChambeau
  • Tony Finau
  • Jim Furyk
  • Sergio Garcia
  • Billy Horschel
  • Matt Kuchar
  • Kevin Kisner
  • Ian Poulter
  • Justin Thomas
  • Gary Woodland

Equipment and apparel

  • Adidas
  • Ben Hogan
  • Bridgestone
  • Callaway
  • Grand Slam

  • Malbon
  • Penguin
  • Polo Ralph Lauren
  • Puma
  • Royal and Awesome
  • Skechers
  • Tattoo Golf
  • TaylorMade
  • Under Armour
  • Wilson

You encounter these elements by working your way through career mode. You play events, you earn in-game currency, you spend that currency on clubs and apparel to spruce up your create-a-golfer. If that sounds a little too familiar, that’s because it is; it is very much a return to the career mode players received from EA Sports.

Golf PGA Tour 2K21 Courses

The development tools on offer are the same ones used to create the game, making the course designer as intricate or as simple as you like. Not only can you create your perfect hole in course designer, but you can download thousands of courses to play alone or with friends. There are different locations such as tropical, countryside, desert, or the Swiss Alps, and from there you have free rein on which obstacles feature.

Golf PGA Tour 2K21 Customer review

I particularly enjoyed the experience of mastering windy conditions in PGA Tour 2K21. The first time I encountered winds pushing 15 miles per hour I struggled to four over par for the tournament (it was the Waste Management Phoenix Open and I appropriately served up my share of trash). This was because, despite the fact I had wind direction and speed indicators to assist me, I still needed to get a feel for clubbing up into a headwind or effectively using draws and fades to negate or ride more lateral gales, which eventually came through practice. Playing PGA Tour 2K21 on its medium difficulty ultimately felt like a really well balanced experience to me, someone who’s played almost every golf game released in the last 20 years, but it’s worth noting that all of the guides and timing windows can be adjusted or disabled according to your personal preference or aptitude level.

Men’s Tour Authentic Cabretta Leather Golf Glove CALLAWAY $20.48

What are the best golf gifts under $100 in 2020?

This isn’t just any old golf glove: It’s made of butter-soft leather meant to conform to his hands with every stroke and swing. It is another the best golf gifts under $100 in 2020.

The very best golf gift : ARCCOS CADDIE SMART SENSORS $249

What are the best golf gifts under $100 in 2020?

Once again this year, my best golf gift recommendation comes from Arccos Golf.

Their new Arccos Caddie sensors and smart grips are honestly the coolest and most useful golf product on the market.

Why?

Essentially they track every shot you hit, so that you get statistics about your game that were previously only available to Tour players.

Whether you’re looking for a gift for a gadget lover, scratch golfer, or for the person just getting going – this will help all of them.

They have two products to choose from the Smart Sensors and Smart Grips.

For the diehard, better golfer, the Grips are more seamless and it’s what I personally use.

But as a gift or if you’re unsure of what to get, the sensors may be a better bet.

You can add them to any club without having to re-grip them, and they don’t have the $99 annual fee that the grips have.

Who is it for? The person who plays at least once a week and love to geek out about stats and review every shot of every round they play.

Who is it not for? The device is super simple to use, but I wouldn’t recommend it for people who are totally tech-illiterate.

Best golf training gift : BLAST MOTION GOLF SENSOR $149

What are the best golf gifts under $100 in 2020?

Blast Motion Sensor on a 7 iron

Have you ever watched the pros and wondered how their swing tempo looks so effortless? Or how they manage to hit the ball straight every time they want to?

Yeah, me too. And the Blast Motion Golf Swing Sensor may be the single best device I’ve tested to help you improve your tempo, square up your club at impact, and give you an obscene amount of club data for when you’re practicing on the range or putting green.

This will help not only hit straighter, more consistent shots, but it’ll help you drain more putts as well, leading to lower scores.

Who is it for? The person who likes to dissect every part of their golf swing in order to improve it based on real data.

Who isn’t it for? The person doesn’t like to practice and who just wants to hit a few balls, and head straight out to the course.

Solid Alternative: The Zepp 2 Swing Sensor. A similar concept to the Blast Motion sensor, but it attaches to your glove, rather than the club.

Best golf gadget gifts : VOICE CADDIE SC200 $299

Best Golf Gifts: Swing Caddie 2

I’ve mentioned a few other golf gadgets in other parts of this review, but the device I may have been most impressed with in 2019? The Swing Caddie 2.

The Swing Caddie is a personal launch monitor. Ever been to a club fitting where they hooked you up to a Trackman or similar device to track all of the facets of your golf swing?

Yeah, those cost upwards of $20k.

The Voice Caddie SC200  uses the same general technology (doppler radar), sits behind you on the range, and tells you exactly how far every shot is. It costs a fraction of the price, but still works surprisingly well. It even has built in training games to make your time on the range more enjoyable.

Oh, and the best part? In 2018, this was going for $349, now you get the same fantastic product for over $50 less on Amazon.

Who is it for? The person who wants to practice more, but usually gets too bored to make any progress.

Who isn’t it for? Once again, the person who has no interest in practicing.

Solid Alternative? Optishot 2 Golf Simulator ($299). Optishot, moves up on my list of 2019 gifts, considering it’s now $200 less than it was when it first came out! If you’ve got some space at your house, anyone would love this golf simulator. Don’t expect 100% accuracy, but it works well enough to both have solid practice sessions or to play a round on a notable course in the dead of winter. Get Swing Caddie for the more serious golfer, or Optishot for the person who just wants to have some fun with friends.

Chippo Golf Set $189

Chippo Golf

Who doesn’t love a game of cornhole with a red solo cup in hand, during a summer night’s BBQ?

The only thing missing? Golf, duh.

Chippo is the answer for that.

It’s cornhole, but it’s golf – and it’s awesome.

Who is it for? If you’re someone who ever has BBQs, parties, tailgaters or any other gathering of golfers, this is one game you’re going to want to have in your arsenal.

Who isn’t it for? People without friends. Sorry, just callin’ it like it is.

Best golf instruction course : ROTARYSWING

RotarySwing

There are a lot of golf trainings out there, but I’m not sure there’s a single better one for perfecting the golf swing than RotarySwing.

Chuck does an amazing job of breaking down every single aspect of the swing, and they provide custom swing video swing reviews – so you’re basically getting a private lesson from the comfort of your own home. His weight shift video alone was enough to help me start making solid contact again after months of swing regression.

Who is it for? The golfer who wants to get better without always having to go to the range

Who isn’t it for? Golfers who don’t want to practice at home.

Solid Alternative: GOLFPASS – The all inclusive membership from Golf Channel has courses from some of the best players and instructors in the world – and the production value is world class. Lots of other discounts and bonuses as well, so if you’re a fan of Golf Channel content, this is a no brainer.

Best golf glove gifts under $100 – NORTH COAST GOLF GLOVES $25

North Coast Golf Gloves

I love supporting smaller and lesser known companies, and North Coast is one of my favorites I’ve come across this year.

They make leather golf gloves that fit well, look good, and are durable. I’ve been using the same glove for going on 20 rounds now and it has continued to hold up better than gloves from many of the name brands that I’ve had.

This is one of those gifts that is great because the golfer in your life may not be familiar with North Coast, but they’ll be glad you did your research when they find their new favorite golf accessory.

Who is it for? Any golfer who wears a glove when they golf.

Who isn’t it for? The person who is already married to a particular brand and isn’t open to something new.

Best golf books gifts under $100

Let’s face it, in terms of something that’s easy and affordable, there probably isn’t a better golf gift than a golf book.

Here are a few of my favorites that I’d recommend:

Best golf video games gifts – THE GOLF CLUB 2019 ($39.99)

Golf Club 2019

Unfortunately EA Sports has all but let our previous pick (Rory Mcilroy PGA Tour) completely fall by the way side. Luckily, there’s “The Golf Club” series that has picked up where it’s left off. It’s hands down the best golf simulator on the market, and the course creation features are second to none.

If you’re looking for a gift fro the person with a PS4 of Xbox One, this is the best golf option out there.

Who is it for? The golfer who also loves playing video games.

Who isn’t it for? The golfer who doesn’t like video games.

Solid Alternative? Everybody’s Golf for PS4 ($27). The modern take on the old Hot Shots series, this is an accessible game made to be fun for well, everybody! I’d also recommend Golf Story on Nintendo Switch. This game, while it looks like it was made in 1997 is a unique take on golf, and one of the most fun games I’ve played on Switch. So if you have a shiny new Nintendo, this is worth checking out. Only problem is it’s only available as a digital download, making it difficult to give as a gift.

SEAMUS GOLF HEADCOVERS $65 – the best golf gifts under $100 in 2020

Seamus Golf Headcovers

love Seamus Golf. When you see other people who have their head covers, you’re in the “club” – and it almost always leads to a good conversation.

I think this is a great, thoughtful gift. Because it’s something your golfer might not buy themselves, but will totally appreciate once they have them. For instance, I bought both my dad and my father-in-law driver covers for our wedding day. They also have a lot of other cool golf accessories, and most of them can be personalized.

Who is it for? The person who wants to give something a little bit more sentimental than just a box of golf balls.

Who isn’t it for? The diehard brand fanatic, that doesn’t want to see anything other than a big logo on their clubs

Solid Alternative? Custom divot tools from Tim Alpaugh. These things ooze style and class, and he makes them all himself. I have a few of them and they are one of my favorite accessories I own.

SKLZ Golf Swing Warm Up Stick $49.99

When travelers golf championship started?

The tournament was founded 68 years ago in 1952 as the Insurance City Open; It was renamed the Greater Hartford Open in 1967, a title that was retained through 2003. From 1973 through 1988, the GHO also bore the name of entertainer Sammy Davis Jr., who would often play in the pro-ams. Canon was a title sponsor from 1985 to 2002, and their employees would often take vacation time during tournament week to volunteer at the event. Buick was title sponsor from 2004 to 2006 and The Travelers Companies took over sponsorship in 2007.

For the tournament’s first three decades, it was played at Wethersfield Country Club, about five miles (8 km) north. In 1984, after the PGA Tour bought and redesigned Edgewood Country Club, the event moved to the new TPC of Connecticut in Cromwell. In 1991, the course was substantially redesigned with a completely new front nine holes and renamed the TPC at River Highlands. This TPC property was the third PGA Tour owned/managed championship golf course in what would grow to a network of over 30 TPC Clubs (2010).

The purse for the 2006 tournament, under Buick’s sponsorship, was $4.4 million, with $792,000 going to the winner. From 2007 to 2010, the purse under Travelers’ sponsorship was $6 million, with $1,080,000 going to the champion.

Over the last decade, longer hitters have done well at the tournament, with Stewart CinkHunter MahanJ. J. HenryPhil Mickelson, and Bubba Watson combining for six victories over a ten-year span. Mahan also finished tied for second in 2006 and 2008.

Its position on the calendar has varied; in 2005 it was played in late August but in 2006 it was played in late June. Part of the FedEx Cup, the Travelers Championship has been played in late June, the week after the U.S. Open, since 2007.

For the 2020 season, it is part of the Open Qualifying Series providing up to two spots in the Open Championship for the top two non-exempt finishers in the top 8.

Attendance

It is the second-most-attended PGA Tour event annually, behind only the Waste Management Phoenix Open. In 2011, the tournament attracted 240,000 fans for the week and 70,000 fans on Sunday. The tournament set a record attendance in 2002 with nearly 400,000 fans for the week. In 2017 about 290,000 fans attended, the most since Travelers started hosting the tournament.

Award history

  • 1952: Ted Kroll wins the inaugural tournament. He beats Lawson LittleSkee Riegel, and Earl Stewart by four shots.
  • 1955: Amateur Bill Whedon becomes the first player in PGA Tour history to record two holes-in-one in the same round.
  • 1956: Arnold Palmer makes the Insurance City Open his first United States based PGA Tour victory by beating Ted Kroll in a playoff.[10] Afterwards Palmer said “Ted is a great guy—he even gave me the putter that beat him.”
  • 1962: Bob Goalby defeats Art Wall Jr. on the seventh hole of a sudden death playoff after Wall misses an 18-inch putt for par on the 72nd hole.
  • 1967: African American golfer Charlie Sifford wins his first PGA Tour event. He beats Steve Oppermann by one shot.
  • 1968: Billy Casper becomes the tournament’s first and so far only three-time winner. He beats Bruce Crampton by three shots.
  • 1972: Lee Trevino defeats Lee Elder in a sudden death playoff. If Elder had won, he would have become qualified for The Masters.
  • 1973: Billy Casper shoots a final round 64 to win for the fourth time at Hartford. He beats Bruce Devlin by one shot.
  • 1974: Dave Stockton wins by four shots over Raymond Floyd. After the tournament, Stockton gets a congratulatory call from then President Gerald Ford. Stockton also arranges to donate his entire $40,000 winnings check to charity.
  • 1977: Billy Kratzert beats Grier Jones and Larry Nelson by three shots. Two years earlier, Kratzert had quit golf and gone to work as a forklift operator.
  • 1981: Ninety-one players made the 36-hole cut, a PGA Tour record.
  • 1982: Tim Norris sets tournament records for aggregate (259) scoring and under par (−25) as he wins by six shots over Hubert Green and Raymond Floyd.
  • 1986: Mac O’Grady shoots a final round 62 to catch Roger Maltbie, then defeats him on the first hole of sudden death.
  • 1989: Paul Azinger chips it in on the 72nd hole to beat Wayne Levi by one shot.
  • 1992: Lanny Wadkins, who had last played in Hartford in 1978, shoots a final round 65 to win by two shots over Dan ForsmanNick Price, and Donnie Hammond.
  • 2000: Notah Begay III wins for the second week in succession after he makes birdie on the 72nd hole to edge Mark Calcavecchia by one shot.
  • 2002: Phil Mickelson becomes the first winner to successfully defend his title. He beats Jonathan Kaye and Davis Love III by one shot.
  • 2003: Nineteen years after his first triumph in Hartford, Peter Jacobsen wins again, beating Chris Riley. Jacobsen’s $720,000 winner’s check was ten times what he earned in 1984. The tournament was also notable when Suzy Whaley became the first woman in 58 years to play in a PGA Tour event, though her appearance was controversial after playing from shorter tees during her qualifying tournament, the Connecticut PGA Championship.
  • 2011: Patrick Cantlay, an amateur golfer from UCLA, set a course-record of 10-under 60, the lowest round ever shot on the PGA Tour by an amateur.
  • 2014: Kevin Streelman birdies the last seven holes in the final round, a PGA Tour record for an event winner.
  • 2016: Jim Furyk shot a 12-under-par 58 in the final round, becoming the first player to shoot 58 in a PGA Tour event.
  • 2017: Jordan Spieth wins in a playoff against Daniel Berger by holing his bunker shot for birdie on the first playoff hole. Berger had a chance to advance the playoff, but missed his long birdie putt.

2020 PGA Tour Schedule has already started as part of an expanded schedule that increases the number of events while also making several accommodations for the upcoming 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo.

This year’s season has started with several highlights, including Tiger Woods’ record-tying 82nd career PGA Tour win at the Zozo Championship in late October. Then in December, Woods captained the United States team to a thrilling, come-from-behind victory over the International team in the Presidents Cup, which was played in Australia. Eleven of the 46 regular-season events were played from September-November with the PGA Tour taking a break in December.

The schedule resumed in January and will go through August with the BMW Championship. The PGA Tour will have an open week later in the summer (July 27-Aug. 2) to accommodate the Summer Games. Some other events also moved on the schedule because of the Olympics.

As for the four majors, this year’s PGA Championship will be held at TPC Harding Park in San Francisco, with the U.S. Open returning to Winged Foot Golf Club in Mamaroneck, New York, for the sixth time; and The Open Championship (British Open) taking place at Royal St. George’s Golf Club in Southern England (Sandwich, Kent) for the 15th time. Of course, the first major is the Masters Tournament at Augusta National Golf Club in early April. What is the 2020 PGA Tour Schedule?

What’s the top golf near me? Topgolf has been growing like crazy the last several years, with the Dallas-based company adding locations around the country. Topgolf currently has 28 open locations in the United States, with another dozen opening soon all over the place.  Topgolf is continuing on its expansion plans in major American cities, as well expanding into Australia, Mexico and Canada through licensing deals.

If you’ve never been to a Topgolf, it’s basically the golf version of a bowling alley. It’s a driving range where players of all skill levels can hit balls, each with an RFID chip in them, to different targets up and down the range. Players can choose to compete in several Topgolf games in which players earn points based on how well they hit to specific targets. On top of the golf experience, Topgolf customers can order food and beverage which is then brought out to them at tables and outdoor furniture located just behind the bays, which are usually situated on three stacked levels.

At Topgolf, you pay for time at a bay, which you should typically reserve well in advance of your visit if it’s a weekend.

Each Topgolf location costs about $20 million to build, and these locations have typically paid for themselves in two years.

Want to find out the nearest Topgolf location to you? See our list below of Topgolf locations currently open, coming soon (under construction) and rumored.

What games you can play

The Topgolf games can be played by all ages and skill levels, and the micro chipped golf balls score themselves, providing players with instant feedback on each shot’s accuracy and distance.

  • Top Golf – Players aim for 11 giant dartboard-like targets. The further the shot goes and the closer to the pin, the more points the player receives.
  • Top Break – has a snooker based format in which a player must hit a red target then a coloured target. The higher value colours, the more points are awarded.
  • Top Chip – Use just the red target (5 shots), yellow target (5 shots) and green target (10 shots). Hit the correct target to earn points, but hit the wrong one and points are deducted.
  • Top Shot – Similar to TopChip. You have to hit targets at four consecutive distances (5 shots each) Whichever starting target you choose (red, yellow, green or brown) determines the games level of difficulty
  • Top Pressure – An accuracy game, in which you need to hit all nine sections within the yellow target. Move on to the second and third level to see the value of points multiply, hit the same section twice on level 2 and 3 and points will be deduced.

History to Top golf

Twin brothers Steve and Dave Jolliffe had sold their mystery-shopping business and were looking for a new project in 1997. Both golfers, they began complaining about golf’s issues: the time factor and lackluster driving ranges. Looking to improve the game, the Jolliffes looked to the then-new commercial microchip technology and placed it in the golf ball. From this, they designed a new game, Topgolf, which is a redesigned driving range. In Watford, just outside London, the twins built the first location, which opened in 2000. The golfing community and businesses were not enthusiastic about the game. The PGA and golf equipment companies refused to get involved.

In 2003, bankers approached Richard Grogan to invest but were rejected. Grogan later had been induced to visit the Topgolf facility in February 2004. Seeing only a 5% return on investment, Grogan turned them down again, although he was otherwise impressed during the visit. Grogan with three other partners—David Main, Eric Wilkinson, Tom Mendell—then struck upon how to increase business by making it an experience by having an event space, larger kitchens, and restaurants, making locations 3 to 4 times the original’s size. Grogan, Main, Wilkinson, Mendell founded and started up the US licensee, Topgolf International, and found investors. WestRiver Group was a lead investor.

Alexandria, Virginia was selected due to its close proximity to Washington, D.C., which could attract government officials from golf courses. This location opened in 2005. This location struggled so Grogan decided, although it is in a colder climate, to open a location in Chicago. Snow closed the location for its first four weeks and caused equipment damage. The next Topgolf location, Dallas, was selected for its connection to golf, a warmer environment, and Fortune 500 companies. With little traffic at any location, Grogan expect to be closed by May 2007. With an energetic Dallas staff in February 2007, Grogan and Main brainstormed a number of low-tech marketing techniques to draw customers as they needed to explain Topgolf like in the UK. After six months, the Dallas facility had a six-hour wait.

In 2009, Topgolf International (US) acquired Topgolf UK then in July from World Golf Systems the TopGolf intellectual property aspects. By 2011, WestRiver’s head Erik Anderson took over the executive chairman post from Grogan. Anderson move to have newer location even larger with full line kitchens with executive chefs replacing small kitchens and more golfer space. Ten locations were opened in 2013. Topgolf had sales of $163.5 million in 2014 to make the Inc. 500. Mobile phone apps were issued in 2013, with social media digital walls added to locations in 2015.

By 2015, Topgolf had 28 locations that brought in 8 million customers. In January 2016, the company purchased the World Golf Tour gaming company. Also that year, Protracer golf ball tracking technology was purchased and renamed Toptracer

Topgolf and Village Roadshow Theme Parks agreed in 2016 to a joint venture to bring Topgolf to Australia. Village Roadshow received a 67% stake in the joint venture by providing 100% of the startup funds.[5] On June 23, 2016, it was announced that Village Roadshow would open a venue next door to its popular theme parks, Warner Bros. Movie World in Oxenford, Queensland in Australia.

This was the first Topgolf venue outside the US and the UK. The location opened in June 2018. Village indicated in March 2018 that they were looking for location proposals for up to eight Australia and Asia/Pacific locations. In July 2018, Village Roadshow sold $50 million in shares to fund Topgolf and for other purposes. In August 2018, Topgolf Australia reduced its stake in the joint venture from 33% to 3.7% with options to boost its share back up to 33% before December 31, 2020. Despite this action, Village Roadshow CEO Clark Kirby said the company continues to actively pursue other locations after encouraging financial results from Topgolf Australia.

In 2017, Topgolf created a new television series titled Who Will Rock You, where eight of the best unsigned bands across the country compete for $50,000 and a Topgolf tour. Season one premiered in May 2018 won by Crimson Riot! female-led rock group. A second season with Matador Content and music publisher BMG was agreed upon with a March 28, 2019 start with 12 unsigned bands and a prize of $50,000 and signing with BMG. Topgolf Studios had four series available on its YouTube channel by October 2, 2019. At that time, the unit agreed with Will Smith‘s Westbrook Media to produce additional series with the unit for Topgolf starting with This Joka comedian documentary series.

Canadian movie theatre company Cineplex Entertainment announced it entered a joint venture with Topgolf in July 2017 to open several Topgolf entertainment locations across Canada. This is Topgolf’s first foray into Canada.

How to read golf clash notebook wind chart

First of all, let me show you the theoretical stuff so you understand how wind works in Golf Clash.

How wind works in Gold Clash

Wind will randomly spawn at any turn and there’s no fixed pattern, so you will need to learn to adjust to the wind.

The wind itself will direct the ball away from the set position depending on the wind, the number of bounces and how hard the wind is… just like in reality

How to adjust

So what you need to do in order to counter the wind is moving your landing point in the opposite direction of the win and the wind will direct the ball to the point you want it to land.

You’re basically saying to the wind “no no I don’t want to land the ball at point A, I want it to land at point B” but secretly you want it to land at point A

So the easiest way to do it is by spinning the view so the wind points straight up north, this will help you direct in the correct direction without guessing.

How to use golf clash notebook on iPad and iPhone?
How to use it: (A) is my desired landing point and with the wind adjustment I need to move it to (B)

Looking at the image above here’s what you normally would do:

  • You want to land the ball at point A
  • You spin the camera view so the wind faces straight north (makes adjusting easier)
  • Then you check your club and a wind chart to find out how much you need to adjust
  • Now you move your landing point to point B

Wow…. that’s a lot of work and you need to repeat that all the time?!

The only reason why you need wind charts is because you need to know how far you will need to adjust.

golf clash wind chart

That’s what the wind charts will tell you, nothing more. You need to look up the club you use and the wind you have and they will tell you a number between 1-5. This number interprets into the rings you see, each ring is one number.

If you see the number 1.5, you need to move to the middle of the orange ring, if you see 3, it’s the outside line of the blue circle and so on…

They basically will show you how much you need to adjust for the wind in Golf Clash.

Here’s how such a wind chart looks like:

How to use golf clash notebook on iPad and iPhone?

I just don’t like checking these charts all the time, this makes me enjoy the game a lot less…

… and if I don’t check them I will miss the spot too many times and lose (still not enjoying)

So that’s why I was just trying to put all of these numbers into an easy formula (or rather said, rule of thumb).

So, let’s say you have a club with the accuracy of 20 selected, each ring values 2.6. This is how much wind a full ring compensates. If now the wind would be 2.6, you need to move a full ring. If the wind would be 3.9, you move one and a half ring etc.

Sounds a little complicated at first, but it’s easier than you think, especially as the amount is linear with every 10 points of accuracy is worth 0.2 wind per ring.

This is the only value you need to remember and you can easily calculate it within a few seconds and don’t need any wind chart anymore!

I’m also sure this is how wind is implemented in the game

Please keep in mind two more things when you use this:

  1. You need to land a perfect hit for 100% to make the adjustment take effect – If you miss the strike a little bit your ball will land somewhere else.
  2. When the wind is higher than 7 you should give your ball a little curl in the opposite direction of the wind – this will help especially if your ball will bounce a couple of times.

Ball Acquisition tips

Ball Tips: We have all played with the basic ball and while it’s good enough to get us through the initial phases of Golf Clash, there comes a time when it’s time to upgrade your balls. Today we’re going to go over ball usage, acquisition, and how to upgrade without paying a dime unless you want to. If you think it will take forever to get enough Titans or Kingmakers to play more than a few rounds, you’re right. You could spend some money, but without good skills, these power three balls will be a waste. If you learn to play with upgraded balls you will come to depend on them to play even on easy holes and this puts you on a cycle of purchasing upgrades just to maintain the quality of your game.

  • Ball Usage: The basic ball is a no frills ball with limited distance and not a lot in the way of curl or spin. Your first instinct will be to start upgrading balls and leave this one behind. For the most part this would be true, however the basic ball will help you to play more effectively.
  • To get the most from your Golf Clash education, we recommend playing with the basic or marlin ball in tours 1-3 as long as you can stand it. This gives you time to gain some experience, upgrade your clubs, and save up some gems (see gem tips) that can be used to upgrade balls for free. These low end balls will come into play in later tours when your clubs are greater than the course and you need a low power ball.
  • Power I Balls: Once you’ve developed some real skills and upgraded your clubs, it’s time to move up to tours 4-6. Most of these courses can easily be played with the power II Navigator or Quasar. They are basically the same with the Nav having more wind resistance and the Quasar having more sidespin. My preference is the Quasar since wind speeds are easy to adjust for and sidespin along with curl can save your game in a tight spot. These are affordable balls at 60 gems for 9 balls and if you’re in a good clan, your gems are coming in fast. You should be able to play most courses with one of these balls.
  • The Katana is Power II with lots of sidespin and is a great go to ball on dogleg courses or situations where a lot of sidespin gives you an advantage. This ball is a favorite, but at 180 gems for 9, you have to save a lot of gems to acquire them. The Titan is a power III and runs 180 gems for 9 but does not have the sidespin the Katana offers. I save these up and usually only use them in tournaments or courses over tour 8.
  • The Kingmaker is a power III ball with lots of wind resistance and sidespin. Cost is 650 gems for a box of 9. I only use these during tournaments on long or difficult par 5’s.
  • The Berserker is power V and you cannot get this one with gems. Until you’re playing tour 10-12, it’s unlikely you will need this ball. Just wait and let them store up. They usually come in chests or prizes. Save them up for tournaments.

How do I get a bunch of Power II and III balls?

First join a clan that’s at least rookie II or above and you get a 30% increase in gems with each chest. If you save your gems and only trade for power I balls, you will find that in just a few weeks, you will have acquired a ton of gems. Our Pro II clan gets a 55% bonus on gems. See how many gems I have in my Eaglemaster account. (see pic above) I can trade for 22 boxes of Katanas if I want. I never have to worry about ball upgrades as long as I have gems.

If you review the prizes for tournaments, you will see the ball upgrades. Place well in a tournament and you get a bunch of balls. This is where learning how to play the game without upgraded balls is most important. While you’re playing the lower tours, you’re building up a nice bank of Navigator and Quasar from tour chest. These balls power I balls and increased experience are going to help you place well in the tourneys. You don’t have to win, but it helps. Usually a Top 10 finish will get you a bunch of Power II and III balls. All of my power II and III balls were acquired in tournament play.

This strategy was developed from personal experience after playing for two years and struggling. Hopefully this helps everyone who takes the time to read it. Go and Play Well!

How much does it cost to play Augusta National? And how does a person go about joining, anyway? No golf course in America is more steeped in history than Augusta National Golf Club, which hosts the Masters Tournament each year. Jack Nicklaus, Tiger Woods and Arnold Palmer are among the golf legends who have enjoyed historic moments during the Masters at Augusta National.

Each of the 18 holes at Augusta National has a name derived from a tree, flower or plant on the course. Some include Tea Olive, Magnolia and Holly. The 11th, 12th and 13th holes are collectively known as Amen Corner, due to the difficulty of the holes in combination with the wind in that location.

Augusta National is not only one of the best golf courses in America; it’s also one of the most exclusive. It is a members-only club, and any guest must be accompanied by a member at all times. How much does it cost to play Augusta National?

The club was restricted to white men from the time it opened in 1932 until it admitted its first black male member in 1990. In 2012, Augusta National admitted its first women members: former Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice and South Carolina investor Darla Moore. Augusta National’s official list of members is confidential; however, Bloomberg included CEOs and billionaires, among other high earners, in its 2015 list of the club’s verified and speculated members. How much does it cost to play Augusta National?

How much does it cost to play Augusta National?

Augusta National Golf Club’s members include some of the most powerful men and women in the worlds of business, politics and sports (some of them are listed below). But they all had to pay an initiation fee when they joined, and they all have to pay dues.

They also have to pay other club costs, such as lodging (in the clubhouse or in one of the 10 cabins on the club grounds) and dining for those members who chose to use those services.

But the fact is, the club makes so much money off The Masters Tournament and Masters merchandising, it doesn’t have to charge the gargantuan membership fees you find at some other prominent, exclusive golf clubs.

  • The Augusta National initiation fee — a onetime fee paid upon joining a golf club — is believed to be between $20,000 and $40,000.
  • The monthly dues paid by members are believed to be less than $300, or less than $4,000 annually.

In 2009, Golf World magazine published an article titled “Inside Augusta National Golf Club.” A club member (speaking anonymously) told the magazine that the initiation fee is in “the low five-figures.” So definitely less than $50,000, and possibly even less than $25,000. A lot of money, to be sure, but much less than many, many other exclusive golf clubs charge. In the United States there are many private clubs with initiation fees in excess of $50,000, and a smaller number that top $100,000.

As for monthly dues, another source told Golf World they amount to “a few thousand” dollars per year. So probably in the neighborhood of $250 a month/$3,000 a year. Lodging fees are little more than $100 per night. Members are mailed a bill once a year for dues and services.

How to apply for Augusta National Membership?

How do you apply for membership? Again, you don’t. There is no way to apply to join Augusta National. Asking to join or even just making it known you’d love to join? That’s sure to get a person booted off the list.

Augusta National memberships are by invitation only. When a membership spot opens — membership is always kept close to 300 — the club decides who to invite and mails the invitation.

Membership slots open primarily when a member dies. Very rarely, a member might resign or, even more rarely, be “asked” (read: told) to leave. The club maintains a list of prospective members based on recommendations from current members. When a membership slot opens, the list is consulted, the poobahs at Augusta National in charge of membership get together, a decision is made and an invitation sent out.

The prospective new member may have no idea he or she is under consideration until that invitation arrives in the mail.

Who are the Augusta National members?

Most of the Augusta National members are prominent, wealthy individuals, people who run in the “right” crowds, who know the “right” people. But some are people you’ve never heard of, including family legacies.

The club does not reveal the names of its members, but anyone paying attention to news reports can glean plenty of names. Those people running The Masters are members, for example; anyone walking around Augusta National in a green jacket while Masters Tournament play is happening is a member.

The Augusta National membership skews very, very rich and quite old.

Notable members

Notable current members include:

Deceased members include:

Chairmen

Chairmen serve for an indefinite amount of time. The chairman is the only person officially authorized to publicly discuss the Masters.

In 1966, the governing board of Augusta National passed a resolution honoring founder Bobby Jones with the position of President in Perpetuity.

Blessings Golf Club was developed with the vision of being a club of comfort to its members and their guests by providing a superior golfing experience designed to test championship golfers on every shot. The Club is located in Johnson, Arkansas, and is the home to the University of Arkansas Men’s and Women’s Golf Teams. Golf lover always asks How much is blessings golf club membership cost?

Blessings Golf Club Course

The impeccably maintained course stretches to over 7,900 yards from the back tees and plays through two distinct landforms-the Clear Creek floodplain and a plateau that rises to 65 feet above the floodplain where it’s bisected by a series of ravines. Both the outward and inward nines climb up and down between the two topographies, creating drama and variety on each hole. The course was originally designed by architect Robert Trent Jones, Jr. with a redesign recently completed by noted architect Kyle Phillips.

The extensive practice areas are unrivaled and provide both indoor and outdoor facilities. The Indoor Short Game Practice and Fitness Facility includes a 9,000 square foot short game practice area with a 3,000 square foot putting and chipping green designed by Dave Pelz. The facility also provides a state-of-the-art 2,000 square foot fitness facility. The Razorback Center houses five indoor hitting bays and one private teaching bay with video analysis equipment. The building also includes locker facilities and a break room for the University of Arkansas golf teams.

The outdoor practice areas feature a range with multiple teeing areas and numerous range targets to allow realistic practice sessions. The short game facilities include several bentgrass putting and short game greens as well as a bermudagrass green. A separate three-acre short game practice area has also been added which features practice greens that are 4,500 and 16,000 square feet in size, practice bunkers and a putting green.

The clubhouse, a Marlon Blackwell design, has won numerous awards including recognition by Architectural Digest as one of the top golf clubhouses in the world. Amenities include a well-appointed golf shop, locker facilities, multiple dining venues and a pool. It features a pro shop, restaurant, lounge, men’s and women’s locker rooms, and a swimming pool.

Blessings is also home to the University of Arkansas golf teams.[4] The membership and the Razorbacks enjoy the Fred and Mary Smith practice facility,[5] located on the grounds. It features six indoor/outdoor practice bays, an indoor video swing analysis station, office space and fully furnished men and women’s locker room facilities for the Razorbacks.

The 2019 NCAA Division I Men’s Golf Championship was held at Blessings, with Stanford winning the team title and Matthew Wolff of Oklahoma State winning the individual title.

The course contact is Richard Cromwell, CCM, PGA, General Manager/COO; and Justin Sellin, PGA, Head Golf Professional.

Why you should choose?

The Blessings has a course rating of 80.9 and slope of 155 off the longest tees, marking it as among the most difficult golf courses in the world. The average slope rating for a U.S. course is 113. The men will play a par-72 setup at 7,501 yards, and the women will play a par-73 setup at 6,473 yards. Multiple tees can be used to adjust length throughout the events, especially if strong winds blow in from neighboring Oklahoma.

Downhill putts are risky

The rough can be penal with knee-high fescue lining fairways – “There’s some Arkansas hay, as it’s called,” said Blessings general manager Richard Cromwell – but the playing corridors are relatively generous and often as wide as 80 yards. There are several carries over barrancas and uphill holes, and while the potential length might initially cause a few double-takes, the strategy for powerful college players revolves around playing to specific lines in the fairways. Players then will have a better chance to strike approaches to the greens that leave uphill putts. It’s much more comfortable to have a 20-footer uphill than a 10-footer downhill.

And if a tee ball is out of position, even if it’s in the fairway, it can be nearly impossible to get an approach shot anywhere near the pin on some of the greens.

McMakin’s advice to players in the NCAAs is to “definitely pay attention in the practice rounds to the hole locations and being under the hole, and trying to putt uphill all week long. If you get on the sides and are trying to putt downhill, I think it will be very difficult.”

Many of the greens feature bold roll-offs at the fronts and sides that can carry away a ball 20 yards or more, but most also are buttressed with banks and slopes that will feed a ball to a given hole location if a player is willing and capable of playing a properly shaped shot away from the pin, putting their trust in gravity.

Many of the interior slopes appear deceptively benign, but at championship speeds even short downhill putts offer the chance of an unbelievably long comebacker – possibly from a bunker.

“I think the men’s committees and the women’s committees (for the NCAA Championships) will set the pin placements appropriate to the skill set,” said Tyson, who loves to walk his course with his dogs while tracking players’ strategy. “Looking at the women’s setup and the men’s setup, I think the challenge for both groups is understanding which holes are the ones that I have a chance to go try to get a birdie and do something, and where are the ones where I just have to put it in the right place on the green and have a reasonable 15- to 20-footer versus getting on the wrong side of the hole. … Those that think well on this golf course will be identified.”

Black Bear Golf Club is part of the Crystal Springs Resort, which offers six other courses, though, it’s hard to remember they’re connected since they each offer a distinct character and look. How much is Black Bear Golf Club membership cost? Unlike Ballyowen and Crystal springs, two of the resort’s most well known courses, Black Bear has more of a parkland layout. The course tumbles across rolling hills covered with trees, which come into play along the undulating fairways and greens. Water only comes into play on three holes but there are a whopping 65 bunkers coming into play. It’s challenging but not frustrating. Both low and high handicappers will enjoy not only the golf course but also the beautiful scenery. Black Bear is one of the best values in the area and has garnered a strong local following.

Created to satisfy golfers of every skill level and rated “very good to excellent” by Zagat, Black Bear is a recreational golfer’s paradise. Black Bear opened in July of 1996 and has enjoyed tremendous popularity ever since. Boasting a 6,673-yard layout co-designed by famed developer Jack Kurlander, Black Bear offers you an inviting diversity of terrain, scenery, and shot selections. And – if you just want to practice, the unlimited Black Bear Driving Range Plan may be the one for you!

What you can get

Black Bear Golf Club offers a unique & distinctive Northern Michigan assortment of Scottish links style holes blended with traditional tree-lined holes, that will inspire you to mark your calendars for your next golf vacation and years to follow.

Golfers of all abilities will find Black Bear has several tee box options from forward Red tees back to the Black tips at just under 6500 yards. The forward tees offer a real advantage as some of the blind tee shots are taken out of play. The middle Gold tees offer quite the challenge, yet easier tee box access and less elevation in spots. Most of our Guests score their best from the White tees at 5,814 yards. Pro’s Tip to lower score here is don’t putt downhill.

SERVICE

Being a “stand-alone” golf course has it’s benefits! We’re a family-owned operation since 2005. None of that corporate atmosphere here. Walk-ons welcome, play your radios, no bossy rangers, no dress code (though we prefer at least a collared shirt). Black Bear’s small, loyal staff is our real secret ingredient. Just ask anyone who has met Becky, and had one of our “Best Bloody Marys You’ll Ever Have,” or Joe W. during check-in, had a lesson with our Pro Jade, a drink made by Katy on the bev cart, or chatted with our Irrigation Specialist Nick while digging a hole. We believe that once you play Black Bear, wether it’s the layout, our Staff, course conditions, or the golf value…you’ll want to come back and play again & again.

We will be happy to help arrange lodging in the Gaylord area, or at one of our hotel properties in beautiful Mackinaw City for you or your group.  We have “hot package deals”  for both golf and lodging with all the area courses, hotels and resorts.

AMENITIES

The Black Bear’s course amenities are everything you would come to expect of a perennial “People’s Choice Award Winner”.  The Black Bear Grille offers a full bar, a delicious quick-service menu, including the best 1/2 pound burger and coldest beer in Northern Michigan. (you may think we’re kidding … but we’re not).

We host all kinds of parties from Class Reunions, to 300 guest weddings, and board meetings.

Full service tournament & outing coordination for groups of all sizes.

First-class driving range & practice facility.

There’s something for everyone at Black Bear, golfers, and non-golfers alike! Sink your tees, and some claws, into some prime rib, fun weekly golf events, savings for ladies, service members, and seniors… and that’s just a taste!

Black Bear Golf Club, opened in 1995, features some of the most unique holes in Central Florida. The course is a P. B. Dye designed Championship 18 hole links style par 72 golf course.

The Black Bear layout extends well over 7,000 yards and features undulating greens, dramatic fairway elevation changes and over 120 natural sand bunkers set in pristine Central Florida surroundings.

P. B. Dye designed the Black Bear course with multiple tee positions to be both a true challenge to the discerning golfer as well as an enjoyable experience for the recreational player.

Black Bear Golf Club has, in its short history, been host to 7 US Amateur Public links events, Canadian Tour events as well as several Hooters Tour events.

Currently Black Bear is home to a select number of PGA and LPGA tour players.
